Abstract

|
Fetal pleural effusion is uncommon and perinatal mortality was at least 50%. There is no consensus on optimal antenatal management with options including induced abortion, simple observation, or intrauterine therapy. A fetus with bilateral
pleural
effusion diagnosed at intrauterine pregnancy at 33 weeks was managed by a pleuromniotic shunt at intrauterine pregnancy at 34 weeks and had no evidence of pleural effusion at birth and required no resuscitation.
